Licenses – Frequently Asked (and necessary) Questions
🧾 What license do I get when I purchase an artwork?
A 1/1 exclusive commercial use license, formalized with a PDF contract that comes with the image.
Translation: you’re buying the exclusive commercial rights to an image. No one else on this planet can use it commercially. Not your neighbor, not your ex.
🔒 What exactly does “exclusive” mean?
It means:
-
The image is permanently removed from sale after your purchase.
-
You are the only person with commercial rights to that artwork.
-
It will never be resold, reused, or relicensed.
In short: you’re in full control of how this artwork is used.
📐 What can I do with the image?
Quite a lot, actually:
-
Use it, modify it, print it, include it in products, branding, websites, ads, packaging, client work, etc.
-
Sell things that feature the image: T-shirts, posters, jam labels… you name it.
All of this:
-
Forever
-
Worldwide
-
Without any time limits
🚫 What can’t I do?
A few lines you don’t cross:
-
You can’t resell the image as-is, share it, or upload it to stock sites.
-
NFTs or any crypto-based assets are only allowed with written permission from the artist.
-
You can’t use the image for illegal, defamatory, or rights-infringing content.
-
If you modify it, you still can’t sell a version that’s basically the same. Changing the background color doesn't make it a new piece.
🖼 Are the website previews licensed?
Nope. The license only applies to the high-resolution image (3000x3000px, 300DPI, JPG) delivered after purchase. Previews with watermarks are for looking, not using (that's why the watermark).
📦 What exactly do I get after purchase?
You receive two essential things:
-
The high-resolution licensed image, ready to use.
-
A PDF license contract with the artwork title, ID, thumbnail, and all your granted rights detailed.
This is your legal proof that you now own exclusive commercial rights to the image.
👔 Can I use the image in a client project?
Yes. You can use the image in commercial projects, even for third parties.
However, the license remains yours — you can’t transfer it to your client.
You bought the rights; you keep them.
✏️ Can I modify the image?
Absolutely, you can:
- Crop it, recolor it, add cool type, drop it into a collage with flames and unicorns.
- Use it in products even if you modify it minimally (for example a t-shirt with the image in black and white).
Just remember, don’t try to sell an “edited” version file that’s still basically the same thing (see "What can’t I do?").
🎯 Can the artist still use the image?
Yes, but only for self-promotional purposes, such as:
-
Portfolio, social media, interviews, exhibitions...
Basically, saying ‘look what I did‘.
Not for any kind of resale or commercial use. Your exclusivity remains untouched.
⚖️ What law governs the license?
This agreement is governed by the laws of Spain, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Seville.
(No jokes here. Legal stays serious.)
📎 Can I see the contract before buying?
Yes. Each product also includes a clickable link called “Exclusive Commercial Use License Agreement”.
You can download a sample copy of the contract to review the terms before buying.
It’s not a license — just a preview.
✅ When do I legally accept the license?
The moment you purchase the license:
-
You automatically accept the license agreement.
-
Your purchase, download, and PDF contract serve as legal proof of acceptance.
